Submission Tips
Here are a few tips to insure your article is accepted into our article directory.
1. Author’s Name.
Double check the name you entered upon registration. You can do this by logging in and clicking “Edit Profile”.
According to our editorial guidelines your name MUST be in the correct format.
“13. The author’s name must be in the format of “John Doe or J. Doe” single word or all initials are not allowed.”
2. Paragraph Format.
Make sure your article is properly formatted. I get tons of articles that have no paragraph format at all. There is only one paragraph that happened to be 700 words in length. It would take to much time for me to correct all of them. A few things that can cause your article to loose its format is the use of Html for spacing, copy & pasting from certain word processors and the use of automated submission scripts which are not allowed so please double check that your format is still intact before submitting.
3. Articles formatted to 60 or 65 characters per line.
If your article is formatted in this fashion it will not display properly on the site. Currently our filters do not correct for this so if you happen to submit your article with this format is will almost surly get rejected.
4. Spelling and Grammar errors.
We have provided for you a spell check button on the submission form to check for basic spelling errors.
5. To many URL’s.
Our guidelines state that you can have a maximum of two URL’s in your article and two in your authors resource box.
6. Affiliate links.
Don’t submit articles with affiliate links or links to sites filled with affiliate links.
Example: If your site makes use of an affiliate banner there is usually no problem however if your site contains nothing but affiliate links then that would be unacceptable.
7. Wrong Category.
Submit your site to the right category. If non exists then submit it to the “Miscellaneous” category.
Note: Because of the nature of the miscellaneous category articles submitted there undergo greater scrutiny.
8. Author’s name is not the same as the name in the resource box.
If you write articles for others please refer to rule 16 of our editorial guidelines of how to do this. If I click an articles and it says the author is John Doe and after reading the article the resource box states the author is someone else I will not accept the article.
9. Improper use of HTML or CSS tags.
Although our new filtering system deletes most HTML tags (Mainly those designed for malicious activity) it does not catch them all. The only tags we allow are the HERF,BR,B,U and I tag. Use of CSS or other tags are not allowed.
Note: The use of the SCRIPT tag will cause the system to automatically delete your article as this tag can be used maliciously.
10. Word Length.
Our current minimum length is 400 words. I get tons of articles in the 200 word range and have to delete them. Make sure your article has enough content and is well written.
11. Ad Copies.
Articles on this site are meant to contain valuable information. If an article sounds like a flat out ad for a product or service I won’t accept it. Make sure your article is well written and leave the sales pitch for the resource box.
Please refer to our Editorial Guidelines for more information.
